I signed up because I wanted a get my diet under control in a sustainable way.  I don’t currently log my food but I do keep track of what I’m eating.  I note the choices I’m making and consider if it is something I should be eating. I’d say that the plan is really sustainable and it’s surprisingly easy to maintain. Just be smart with your choices.
If someone was looking for support I’d tell them sign up for the next challenge or individual coaching. The support piece is great. The check-ins and accountability are great ways to stay on track. Honestly the check ins aren’t about shame or blame. They are an open look at your actions and what changes you could make to improve. It’s about realistic and attainable goals.
Over the 6 week FFBC, the way I look at food has changed. I used to think diet was all about limiting what I eat. In fact it’s about what I choose to eat. Making smart choices has been what’s been the biggest change for me.
Continuing the habits has been easy. If I decide to have a treat, it’s in moderation. I’ve kept up with meal prepping and it’s not hard to do if you commit to meal prepping in a way that fits your lifestyle. I get my groceries delivered for the convenience and it frees up some time to cook what needs to be cooked and to package up what needs to be split into servings.
Throughout the FFBC, I was surprised to see that avoiding excess was easy. I’m prone to excess and overeating and I’m happy I’ve moved away from that.

My name is Lauren Buelow and I joined NapTown about 5 months ago after moving to Indiana for grad school. I have always loved crossfit and have been doing it for about 6 years so joining NapTown right away felt like home! I signed up for the FFBC because I have always tried to eat healthy but I wanted to know more about what good nutrition practices really meant. I also wanted to join to make a team with my family to do it with them and to help my mom who had been trying to lose weight. The plan and lifestyle was amazing to have as a tool to learn how to meal prep and make good healthy meals! I still stick to the similar pattern making my own weekly meal plans to keep me from buying snacks and temptations at the store as well as help me save time during the week so I still keep up basically the same lifestyle I learned in the FFBC (minus logging). The biggest thing I changed during the FFBC was drinking less, going out to eat less, and snacking less. It really helped make me aware of the things I was eating, and that because something seems healthy it might not be. Now I pay more attention to portion size and nutrition info like sugars and ingredients. I was surprised how much I didn’t crave and of the unhealthy things I loved before because I felt good, full, and satisfied from the meals; they were all so good! There really are healthy alternatives to everything and eating healthy does not mean missing out at all! For anyone wanting to try NapTown fitness or nutrition try something new to meet amazing friendly people who will give you endless support, you would be surprised how many things you can accomplish that you never before thought you could. Eating healthy does not mean “diet”, it means changing your habits to whole, real foods to make a lifestyle that only benefits you and makes you feel better than ever!

My husband was the one who first learned about the challenge, and he wanted to participate. I was 10 weeks postpartum when the challenge would begin, and so it was perfect timing for me to focus on my health too and get back into exercising regularly with healthier eating habits. I knew we needed to do it together in order to stick with it and succeed!
The weekly meal plans and lists of all the ingredients made shopping much easier, especially since I did most of it online. We have three little ones and both work full time, and so prepping food for the week was sometimes a challenge. However, it did make the week nights easier, and I learned how to use a lot of new (and healthier) ingredients, and substituted many of our processed foods/sauces with fresh options. Six weeks for the challenge was perfect because the healthy habits became routine, and so we have (generally) stuck with the healthy eating and exercising, even through the holidays!
If you are considering trying out NapTown Nutrition, definitely try it out! I loved being part of a team and having others hold me accountable because it made me much more likely to push myself and stick with the healthy habits.
I loved learning that we can eat (and snack!) healthy, and we don’t have to go hungry to do it. I eat way more vegetables now too, and crave them if I don’t get as many as I should. I also still make exercising a priority throughout the week, usually fitting in at least one extra day of exercise than I used to.
I feel very confident I will be able to maintain this new lifestyle! Since we made it through the holidays with our new healthy habits, I’m confident we can stick with them throughout the year. 🙂
One surprise I had is that my weight on the scale didn’t really change, but I had a substantial increase in muscle and decrease in fat. I could tell that I felt better and looked better. Being able to see the actual numbers broken down using the InBody scan was so great, because I knew that my hard work was paying off!

I signed up for FFBC because my friends wanted me to and I like a personal challenge, I knew it would be harder for me to let my team down over letting myself down. I felt like the plan was maintainable. I am vegetarian and also only cooking for one, so I didn’t strictly follow the meal plans but I did follow the food lists. I chose a recipe or 2 per week that I liked from the FFBC menu or from Pinterest searching, and repeated some weeks the recipes I had enjoyed. I meal prepped on Sundays to be ready for the week. I also liked that it challenged me to be on my phone less, which is in general something I have been trying to work on.
I would tell someone considering NTN or NapTown Fitness that they should just dive in. Everyone at NapTown is there to help you meet your goals, big or small. There is no gimmick, no pressure to buy anything extra, just a commitment to yourself and a plan to help you create healthy habits.
Over the 6 weeks of the challenge I learned I DO have time to meal prep, I just needed to make it a priority. I also learned that I can lift a lot heavier in the gym than I had been, and that showed in my muscle mass gain overall. I have continued with many of the habits, especially meal prepping. Of course, I add in a little more sweets than before, but #balance.
I was surprised at my success with muscle gain and fat loss, honestly I overall eat pretty healthy and exercise regularly, but with small changes and Hudson’s guidance, I learned I was not eating enough many days to sustain the way I want to workout and feel. Small changes led to pretty big results in my opinion, so I was happy to have been part of this group experience.

Prior to starting with NapTown Nutrition, the biggest challenges 1 year+ ago were being on several medications for hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, and heartburn. Since starting with NTN, I can describe myself in 2 ways: 1) Passionate about my health. 2) Giving up is not an option. Since taking this new journey, today I’m feeling great! I’m off all my medications, except for one (high cholesterol). Once I get labs done to check my cholesterol, there is a very good chance that I will be taken off this one last medication.
The biggest change I’ve implemented has been a total overhaul of my diet and eating habits. I eat a much healthier diet, which includes making sure I eat the correct amount of protein, healthy carbs and fats each day. Portion control has also been a huge contributing factor and I weigh and measure all my food to ensure I don’t overeat.
I first did the Fall Full Body Challenge in 2018 with NapTown Nutrition, which included recipes and a day-by-day food plan so that I knew exactly what I was going to eat that day. From there, I decided to continue working with the Nutrition team, to ensure that I stayed on the path that I was on.

The support and accountability that I received from NTN has been phenomenal and a huge part of my success over the past year. I needed that kind of support in order to reach my goals. This individualized attention given by NTN is what sets it apart from the others. From the weekly/bi-weekly check-ins, the monthly InBody scans and follow-up meetings, and everything in between. They make you feel like you are their only client.

NapTown Nutrition has been important part of my life. I’m succeeding because I have someone who cares about my health and making sure I stay on track. The NTN team is very knowledgable and I have learned a lot from them!

If you struggle with anything like I did and are considering nutrition coaching, DO IT!! The first step to making a change is always the hardest, but once you do you will not regret it. Your health should be your first priority and is the greatest investment you will ever make. The NTN team will be there with you every step of the way.

I signed up because I just wanted to feel better. I was told I had Rheumatoid Arthritis over 2 years ago and through lifestyle and diet changes on my own, I felt better but not as good as I wanted. I wanted a professional (not the internet) to tell me what to do and for accountability.
Since working with NapTown Nutrition, I have so much more energy and do not have anywhere near as many flare-up days. Plus, I’ve lost so much weight (a result I didn’t think was possible) I have to get a whole new wardrobe! 
The biggest consistent changes i’ve made is eliminating sugar. As a professionally trained baker this makes but sad, but I didn’t realize how many calories it was adding and how inflammatory it could be. 
There is so much information out there on nutrition that it can be overwhelming. I loved that NapTown Nutrition went step by step and never gave me limitations just information. It was nice to have accountability and to know I could ask as many questions needed until I understood. NapTown Nutrition was extremely knowledgeable and extremely patient with me through the whole process.

Knowing that my body and diet weren’t on the same page, I opted for sensitivity testing fall 2018. I was given a list of a number of foods that I was highly sensitive or allergic to, and those included dairy, eggs, gluten, and other foods that are EVERYWHERE. At first, I ate whatever I wanted in any quantity, so long as it was gluten and dairy free. This worked for about 3 months, but I needed help.
I decided to give NapTown Nutrition a try because I knew my new diet needed to be shaped. I was eating a LOT of meat, and didn’t like that from an environmental or cost standpoint. I also had been curious about the InBody scans for quite some time, and felt that this was a good time to try it and understand what I am made of!

I’ve lost 32-35lbs (depends what day you ask, haha!), have been attending SWIFT class 1-2 times a week, and have been feeling GREAT. I rarely have icky eating side effects like indigestion or nauseousness and can taste the cleanliness in the food I’m eating.

In addition to managing my sensitivities, I’m dining out less and have been regularly taking vitamins (including fish oil – who am I?). Sunday meal prep has been a lengthy 3-4 hour process in our house, but the grab and go meals we’re making in advance have been a total game changer and fit so well in our hectic schedules.

Your well-being is so worth the investment – it’s fascinating and motivating to see your body composition change over time. It also doesn’t just have to be about weight loss – NapTown Nutrition was willing and able to take on the challenge of helping me design an eating style that would be both sustainable and sensitivity-friendly.

I signed up for the Spring Sugar Shred because I had surgery on my foot two weeks before SSS and I knew I would be on restrained activity for 5-6 weeks.  I figured it was a great time to be on point with my nutrition.
The plan was SO easy and I LOVED the recipes, especially that there was a shopping list included.  Even months later, my husband and I still fight over the 5-ingredient “pizza” bake. 
If your are ever on the fence or considering joining NapTown Nutrition, my feedback is that the program is easy, the recipes are delicious and that it isn’t a program about “restriction,” but instead about education.  I learned so much about what is in my food and how sugar is in SO much of what we eat.  It was eye-opening and a lot of fun. NapTown was responsive when I had questions and set up a great program.
A few of the biggest changes i experienced was my coffee, for one.  I used to use a LOT of creamer (fake creamer) and now I use NutPods (coconut-based, non-dairy) because there isn’t any sugar.  But seriously, I was reminded how great you feel when you eat REAL food and that it takes some planning, but not ALL the planning.
We are totally confident these habits will stick.  My husband and I have changed how we shop. On any day, I feel I have the knowledge to eat whole foods, feel healthy, and not deprived at all.  You can learn a lot in just 4 weeks.

“I signed up with NapTown Nutrition because I was looking for some help to build some better habits and wanted some expert advice. I have always been on and off with diet and exercise and I’ve been navigating some health changes recently (Crohn’s and Spondyloarthritis) which had left me wanting to make a change in my diet, which wasn’t particularly balanced (too much Taco Bell and ice cream too frequently).

“Since starting the NapTown Nutrition challenge in September, I’m down 20pounds, down over 6% body fat and stayed around the same with muscle mass. I wasn’t a person who “needed” to lose weight, but I also thought I could outwork a bad diet. Oops. I started with the September Challenge and stuck with it through the end of the year. Then I did Whole 30 in January. And now? I’m happy with my weight, I’m looking to maybe drop a few more lbs of fat and gain some muscle or at least maintain that mass. I can’t tell you the last time I was genuinely happy with my body. I can’t tell you how that feels for me. Or thank you enough. Literally I thought my body in September was “it.” This was as good as I could do. And it was a GREAT body.. strong, fit.. all that. But by making a few minor diet changes, I’m even better. My lifts are maxing higher, I’m finding more ease in gymnastics movements, I got my FIRST bar MU late last year and feel like I can get one on the rings soon. My diet isn’t perfect. I still have occasional things I like (wine, cheese, cake…we’re supposed to enjoy life, right???) but 90% of the time I’m eating clean and it’s SO easy and SO do-able.

“My main objective going into the Sugar Shred was to be able to comfortably fit back into my pre-pregnancy pants.  I wasn’t sure whether that was a realistic goal, but I thought the challenge would at least get me headed back in the right direction after pregnancy and a few months of new-mom life, where convenience often trumped healthy food choices.  At the end of the challenge, I was able to fit comfortably back into my pre-pregnancy pants, and I am honestly proud of myself again every day since then when I button my pants.
