Strength in Our Streets Volunteering
Summer is here and that means it is time for one of our favorite events of the year: Strength in Our Streets! This event features 30 teams, each with 10 athletes. Keeping the event running smoothly with that many moving parts takes a hard working crew of volunteers and we would love your help! Here are the deets on the event plus specifics for being a judge for the day. Click here to read a past article on how to be a good judge and a good athlete if you are competing.
Who: anyone can volunteer for this event but we ask that you have some knowledge of CrossFit movements and standards if you volunteer to be a judge.
What: a competition to benefit Wheeler Mission and Outreach Indy. There will be 30 teams of 10 people competing and in need of judging and organizing.
Where: IMPD Training Academy – 901 N Post Rd, Indianapolis, IN
When: the competition is Saturday June 24th from 7:00am (check in begins) to 4:00pm (closing ceremonies and awards). If you are volunteering to be a judge, there is a mandatory briefing that can be attended on Friday the 23rd at 6:00pm or the day of at 6:30am.
Strength in Our Streets is first and foremost a fundraiser for Wheeler Mission. Each year, teams raise money for the cause and their fundraising totals count as their first score for the weekend. CrossFit NapTown has one team representing us this year, you can donate to their team page by clicking here.
