Helping people feel empowered and strong.
I like to think I’m a casual mix of Beyoncé and Sloane Sabbath from Newsroom. I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who like lawyers with a hint of fitness-ing, I’m your gal. It has been rumored that I am ambitious to a fault.
I bring lots of useless information about trademarks, copyrights and domain names. I am also poised and ready to yell, “Hooray Sports!” at any given time. I also know every lyric to every Hamilton song.
With respect to fitness, I bring a genuine love and respect for the process. I truly believe that anyone and everyone can be healthy, and I challenge people to take that step. I have faced a number of health issues in the past five years, including both a brain tumor and a torn ACL/MCL (one of these is worse than the other…). I aim to help people understand that health conditions and injuries should never be a bar to someone trying to get fit– -we can ALWAYS find a way to make things work.
Because lawyering is boring? Just kidding, I love lawyering. However, I loving working out too. Getting fit and meeting the NapTown community changed my life—I met my husband and so many of my best friends through the gym. I have watched my own mother and brother engage in the community and change their lives for the better.
This community has also changed the way that I view myself and helped me to be more accepting of my own body and mind. Even though it is getting better, I think that society still tries to tell us that skinny = beautiful. I disagree. Strong and healthy = ability to live long and happy lives with those you love (because why is beauty our go to standard anyway?)
