CrossFit Weekly Programming Preview : 2/12/18-2/18/18

The Open begins on February 23rd, just one week away. Register for the Open here by February 18th to be a part of the Intramural Open Draft! Coaches Kylie, Nick, Kendra, and Meg will be leading up our Intramural teams this year.

In preparation for the Open, sign up for Back to Basics with Jared on February 17th. Take the time to work on fundamental and foundational movements so you are ready to be as efficient as possible in the Open and even make the harder movements easier.

Monday:
lots of strength reps to start your day out. You will have a little more rest today than we have recently had on strength work as you work through higher repetitions of a back squat and push press. Finishing the day off with a test of efficiency on a movement we are likely to see in the Open.

Tuesday:
starting off with skill work focusing on core strengthening and shoulder stability. Finishing out with a benchmark girl we have not seen in a while. Get ready for some barbell cycling!

Wednesday:
celebrating Valentine’s day with a pair of partner challenges. Starting with a test of accuracy and communication and finishing up with a partner workout that will function more as an interval piece. Sticking with the theme of the week, your workout will be packed will movements we are likely to see in the Open

Thursday:
we will get into more skill work today getting upside down along with strict pushing and pulling. We will finish out the day with a fast and explosive couplet with bodyweight movements.

Friday:
beginning our Friday with accessory work to develop mobility and strength in the hips and overhead position. We will close the day out with a tough barbell workout testing your strength and stamina.

Saturday:
spending our weekend with another benchmark workout, the Baseline. Hopefully you performed this workout when you first got started in CrossFit and can smash that time today!
